Kole Hicks – Bay Area Artist

Playing Level 1 of my little Super Balamito Dunk iPhone app game. I built this one on my own just because I can. Super Balamito Dunk in the App Store. Free to download and play. I’d love to hear what you think. Anyone want a camio in my game? Fun to play with. Keep being creative. More paintings coming soon. #bayareaartist #superbalamitodunk oh.. and @superbalamito now has an instagram profile :) So it was the niece’s 1st b day. In Samoa bats are protected. I decided to incorporate that thought into a cute kid friendly bat named Pe’a for the first painting from her uncle Kole. #kidsArt #SamoaBat Went a little more contemporary with this one. Still have one more pass to do. Some line work and probably going to frame the lettering a bit more. There is a hint of sarcasm in this one if you read through the little scribbles. When my husband was in the army and would be off on some exercise or training I’d often think “don’t die”. 😂 I know GenX humor isn’t for the faint of heart. But hey, it is love! Chasing trains pix. A few of my favorites recently. #sanfrancisco Chasing trains this morning in the cold wet.. makes for beautiful photos.. #sanfrancisco Super Balamito Dunk, a fun flappy style game with multiple levels and action packed gameplay play. Fun and friendly help Balamito navigate the hoops and defeat his enemies. #superBalamitoDunk now in the App Store. So, my little video game Super Balamito Dunk is finally out for a preview. I appreciate you and love ya! #superbalamitodunk #workingArtistWithADayJob Preview of my little Super Balamito game assets. One more pass on this and I should be good to get back to Painting 😂🤷. Crazy little detour that I have to finish :) video game music by the husband @iamjuice707 … #JuiceMakesMusic .. even for video games. ❤️ Living in San Francisco for so many years these trains became a bit of a lifeline. They reminded me that the city is always changing from old to new. And on those evenings, running from my day job off to find friends in the Castro these trains became a little symbol of freedom for me. I spent a little time creating a gel print. Hope you enjoy it. #chaisingtrains #bayareaartist Just joy chasing trains.. A message for the Jan 30th protesters out today. #loveWillWin and thank you @aalmaraz14 and the generation coming up.. thank you too! From me and Gen X.. we don’t say this that much. But thank you. A quick poem to let y’all know to keep pushing forward with love so we can build the American dream together. We don’t have to take what has been given. We can escape this cold dark night we are in. #LoveWins Sketching w paint in my little ideas book. I try not to be to strict about it. It’s more about getting ideas out and into my little book so that I can come back to them. Thoughts for this one, be kind, look beyond your expectations, and find that place within you where you can cultivate love. On repeat. #vallejoartist #dailysketch #artideas Quick 1 min sketch in my little ideas book. Featuring the music of my talented extended family @maileasantoss .. when I tell ya the fam and friends are talented I’m just speaking the truth. Hope this lifts you all up today. Love each and everyone of you. #vallejoartist I painted this one in hopes that you find some healing energy in it. There is a lot going on in the world right now. We have dictators pushing to divide us. What can we do? It feels overwhelming. But we must start with our core values. Love your neighbors. Protect those in the fight. Don’t forget what you have seen. You must trust your core. Trust your values and hang on to those you love. Check in on them. Even the weird ones that are standing next to you calling out the truth. The America I live in is a diverse, eclectic, group of dreamers that believe in a better path forward. I have to believe that love will win. To those out in the streets. Thank you. Thank you for fighting even when you are exhausted. #lovewillwin Put together a little tutorial while up in the air traveling to Singapore. This tutorial covers the basics of how to paint Postcard from the American Dream. Enjoy! As I take off to Singapore I am sitting here thinking about this painting. Title: Postcard from the American Dream… 30x24 on Masonite box. I’ll spend this week believing all the people that want the America I see will be safe and protected. Diversity, and love are the best parts of the American Dream. That’s the America I hold dear. That’s the America I live in everyday with my talented handsome husband that served 20 years in the army for this country. Keep your loved ones close. Love every one of you. See you in a week .. ish.. I’ve been asking myself what is happening to the American Dream? We are all on a bit of a journey at the moment. Asking whether or not that dream still exists in this rapidly changing world. If you are a #dreamer know how much you are loved regardless of how cruel the world can be. We each need to find our community and hold tight. My American Dream is diverse accepting and full of love. I hope you all feel the same. #bayareaartist #america https://www.instagram.com/reel/DTiJ_WIFe2L/ The latest painting, the first of 2026. Love Bomb! 19x36” on Masonite. I keep thinking about how we move forward. We are people that need connection. We’re need to build our little community where we normalize empathy and kindness. There’s a bit of protest in this one because that’s the reality of the world at the moment. Love you and hope this puts a smile on your face. #bayareaartist #popart I find myself on a bit of a journey. The world doesn’t seem safe for a lot of us once again. The world is our single spaceship and people are not just here to serve corporate greed. Love Bombs payload is empathy. People are struggling and the world needs bombs that leave love and hope behind. Hope you enjoy. Feel free to share and remix #bayareaartist #itgetsbetter #artbykole Imagine an escape from 1984.. a hundred year journey. A lifetime guided by love. 2084 Sub. That’s where my mind went. Hope you enjoy. #bayareaartist #1984 #lovewins #artbykole #vallejoartist Living above the Castro at kite hill I’d often watch the fog roll in past Sutro tower. It was like the city’s little beacon on the hill. On the evenings when I just needed someone to hear me I’d look up at that tower as I walked home. Some nights were magic. Other’s lonely. It’s been a long time since my Castro days, but I love the memories. And when I visit the city I smile every time I see @sfsutrotower . Thanks for being consistent. #SFArt #bayareaartist #popart I don’t know what it is, maybe the holidays, or just the struggle to ensure people find joy in their journey by sharing a bit of mine. In any case we have 9 colorful paintings in the last 9 weeks sharing the struggle to relate to and connect in a world that is changing rapidly. Hold on to the joy people, whether it’s making Tamales with your fam, wearing your crocks to a protest, taking the unexpected ride, or enjoying a few bad decisions, just be kind to yourself. It all gets better. #loveyou #bayareaartist #itgetsbetter In my early 20’s I found myself on my own in Barcelona. I was having a moment and as it turns out it was exactly what I needed to grow into the person that I am today. This painting is a bit of a tribute to that time. I hope you each find your own moments of growth and can enjoy the memories. What a life it’s been to this point. Love each and every one of you. #popart #bayareaartist #itgetsbetter Almost complete. Letting this one sit for the evening. We’ll see what else we need tomorrow. But I like where it’s going! Title: Vespa Confessions, 30x48” on Masonite gallery style box. … it’s big! And colorful! #popartpainting #bayareaartist #originalart One more painting out there in the world. I had a lot of fun with this one. Sharing the basic steps to making the Rent is Due painting. Glad y’all are having fun w me on this one. Your reactions were great! 😎👏🙏 This one is for all the grown up club kids that know the feeling. 😂 I can’t tell you the title till you see the reveal. I hope each and every one of you are doing well, loving your lives, and taking moments to enjoy more than just the corporate gigs we didn’t ever really want anyway. #itsAGoodLife #art #clubkids 5 weeks of paintings… not sure how long I can continue the streak. But I’m enjoy it at the moment. #art #bayareaartist #lgbtqart #artbykole #vallejoartist #californiaart
